Position: Group IT Director
Location: Barbados (Multi-Island Operations)

We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Group IT Director to lead the comprehensive IT operations of our multi-company organization operating across the Caribbean. Our portfolio includes businesses in the hotel & restaurant, travel agency, car hire, attraction, transport, tours, and retail sectors, with operations in 8 countries and a head office housing a dedicated monitoring & security department as well as a software development team.

About the Role

As the senior-most IT leader, you will oversee all aspects of our IT strategy, operations, and development. This role demands both high-level vision and detailed execution, ensuring systems across the enterprise are secure, scalable, and future-ready. We operate a hybrid infrastructure with Linux and Windows servers, combining on-premise and cloud systems, alongside virtualization and containerization. Experience with open-source platforms will be an asset.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead the IT and digital strategy across all companies in the group.
  • Oversee IT operations, infrastructure, cybersecurity, enterprise applications, and software development.
  • Drive digital transformation initiatives, including AI integration, data strategy, and automation.
  • Establish and manage technology governance, security compliance, and risk mitigation frameworks.
  • Build and mentor a high-performing IT leadership team across regional and functional units.
  • Optimize IT budgets, vendor relationships, and enterprise systems to ensure maximum ROI.
  • Ensure business continuity through disaster recovery planning and risk management.
  • Liaise with senior executives to identify technology needs and lead key digital transformation initiatives.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive IT experience, including 5+ years in a senior leadership role.
  • Strong background in systems architecture, cloud platforms, and enterprise software.
  • Proven track record in managing cross-functional IT teams and large-scale projects.
  • Exceptional knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and compliance frameworks.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and budget management skills, with the ability to inspire and influence at all levels.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (Master’s preferred).
